    2G iPod touch
hi, i'm very new here and i need some help with my jailbroken (untethered) 2G ipod touch. i was playing a game and it froze, so i restarted it. or tried to, at least, because now it won't turn on. it's completely dead, and none of the buttons work. if i plug it into my computer, it goes to the recovery screen. when i try to restore it though, i get error message 1611. i really need help, and i've done everything the apple people have recommended. the biggest problem is that since it's jailbroken, apple will void my warranty if i send it in, and they realize it's jailbroken. i also would like to know if there's anything i can do to fry the screen without any obvious damage so that they won't know it's jailbroken when i send it in. please help!

hey bro, did you use quickfreedom? if you did use the dfu mode instructions and follow it, once down redsn0w will patch it and once thats done, you can restore to a new fresh 2.2.1 firmware

I would recommend you don't use Quckfreedom. It can mess up your install.
    Use Redsn0w instead of Quickfreedom.
Keep trying to get it into DFU.
Just so you know, the iPod has to be plugged in to go into DFU.

    ohk brother,
hold the power button for 3 second
then without releasing the power button hold onto the home button too for about 10 second
then without releasing the home button release the power button and hold it until itunes recognizes it. done dfu
