    Hi,
I thought there would be a thread for something like this around but I couldn't find one. All the results that show up are for older firmwares.

While updating from 4.0 to 4.1 my itunes and ipod touch got stuck at near finish. The ipod touch on the apple logo with the progress bar. How do I get past this? I would really appreciate your help.

I have a 2nd gen 16 gig ipod touch and itunes 10. I updated my mac recently and am running latest OS 10.6

I just let itunes download and install the upgrade. that didnt seem to work. After it was stuck, I unplugged the ipod and it showed the connect to itunes screen. I connected it again and this time pressed restore and it seemed to get a little further than last time, but still got stuck.

the ipod is in recovery mode after my first failed attempt. so recovery mode doesn't work. But I am unable to ge the ipod in DFU mode to do it in DFU mode.
Yes, I do. is that the cause of all this?
