I have a 1st Generation iPhone which I recently updated to firmware 2.2. I have jailbroken it using Quickpwn and I think it was unlocked and activated during the Quickpwn process.

However when I insert an OPTUS sim card in it, the signal bars come up although they are empty. There is no OPTUS carrier Logo which used to be on my iPhone when it was on 1.1.3. The optus sim card use to work fine with my 1.1.3 iphone.

More importantly, when I call the number associated with the OPTUS sim card, I get a "the number is not available".

I'm in Australia, and as you may know Apple did not officially sell the 2G iPhone here. My carrier is Optus.

What could be wrong with my recent update?

Did the iphone not get activated when it was quickpwned? Moreover, was it unlocked during the process? I don't recall it asking me if it wanted the iphone to be unlocked/activated during the quickpwn process though.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!
