I can't find a viable source for the installer.app for the iPod Touch 2G. I successfully jailbroken it to 2.2.1 and have Terminal, and unfortunatelly Cydia. I would rather have AppTapp (If thats what it is) rather than Cydia. Don't ask me why, I just do. Please help me get this installed. I'm running Windows XP and I have WinSCP and know how to SSH.

I've been looking for this all day as well.

Have seen mentions of a version 4 or something that seems current but can find no download for it. On the official page all it has are progras for firmware 1.1.1-.3 and I don't know if those work for us.

I have a feeling that it may have been a very common installer until a few months ago, but you can probably add the repo's in Cydia. I broke my jailbreak a few hours ago so now I'm doing it again, I'll let you know how that goes.

    later.

    A way..

Hey, I don't exactly what you mean by AppTapp, and like you guys, I jailbroke my Ipod 2G, 2.2.1 yesterday or recently.

But, luckily I've been able to get Installer 4.0 on it using Cydia.
Now, when you get the Installer, it will only have 2 sources, so you have to find them yourself.

    Heres how:

    1. Go to Cydia.
    2. Go to "Manage" tab.
    3. Go to "Sources"
    4. Click EDIT on the top right corner.
    5. Click ADD on the top left corner.
    6. A box will appear saying to enter Cydia/APT URL.
    7. Enter this, without "s: "cy.sosiphone.com"
    8. You should have "Http://cy.sosiphone.com"
    9. Now, press OK and it will add it.
    10. Go to the "SEARCH" tab.
    11. Search for Installer.
    12. Scroll down until you see something in the I's called "Installer"
    13. There may be several, so check that it says "from SOS iPhone Cydia (System)"
    14. Click it, install, and confirm.
    15. It will install.
    16. Done!

    Hope this helped!

First, this thread is 5 months old. Also, why are you on 2.2.1? Go to 3.1.2, like everybody else.
