My new 2g, 8gb is going crazy. Freezes, can't be seen by my comuter or iTunes software. When you start it, it doesn't even go to the home page.
I took it to the Apple store and they ran a diagnostics. Some apps were stuck?? So they erased it and re installed 2.2 firmware.
I brought it home and my computers, I tried both, still can't see it. i have tried two different adapter cables but that didn't help.
I went back to the store and said it still wouldn't work and that it will not even go to home page, just a white screen.
They didn't have any in stock, so i have to wait until next week.
Man, I hope this is going to be another trend of bad product from an Apple store.

Same thing just happened to me and I also freaked out.

But then I figured out that i removed some components of iTunes, so I reinstalled it and it works fine now. You should try it.

    Cheers,
