I am trying to jailbreak my friend's 2G iPod Touch running 3.0 with RedSn0w Mac 0.8 and it keeps on getting stuck in "waiting for reboot." A while back when I jailbroke my own iPoT2G3.0, it worked fine for me, but his just wont work.
    We have tried:
    Restoring.
Giving it a very, very long time to reboot.
    Manually rebooting.
    Using other USB cables/ports.
Hitting "Cancel," putting it in DFU seperately and trying again.
I also tried using PwnageTool, and it always says that I "have selected the wrong firmware." Even though it is the same firmware file I used to update it and the only one downloaded to my computer.
We are about to give up, but he wanted me to check here.

    Any ideas?

I got stuck on "Waiting for Reboot" a few times on an iPod touch, and to solve the problem, all I did was unplug the device and re-connect it. This caused the device to boot, and the jailbreak process continued as normal.

I have heard that this works. However, it didn't for my 2G iPhone. So I:
    DFU restored to 3.0.1
When iTunes asked if I wanted to restore from backup, I quit iTunes and ran the jailbreak (it worked)
Then I reopened iTunes, selected restore from backup, and now I have all my old apps and settings, plus Cydia (and thus, Google Voice).
