    Hi!

Yesterday, my iPod touch 2G 16GB tethered JB died..
I think because of a low battery....
BUT, I wanted to reboot it. Into JB FW.
But I can't get it into DFU mode, it just does nothing.
I've charged my iPod all night long.
    No result...
    Someone has a fix?

    Thnx!

(PS: I've searched, but didn't came along a topic like this one...)

    ______---UPDATE--_____
    Got into DFU! (yay)
DLoaded 2G boot tool, boots. (yay)
Once booted, connect to iTunes screen (boo).
I don't want to lose my JB stuff...
    How can I fix this?

He can't exactly NOR only if it has no power..

Try a wall charger, then try to get into recovery mode by pressing and holding Home whilst plugging into the computer. If you get this far come back and we will tell you how to get untethered

Turn off iPod, make sure it is not connected to your computer.
Hold HOME button as well as plug it in, keep holding until the recovery image pops up.
Use redTool (in the stickies) to create a NOR only firmware for untethered.
Now SHIFT+CLICK on restore in iTunes to get untethered.

This will not delete any of your files but will allow you to boot your iPod without a computer

But when you restore, you lose all of your files and apps?

Yea if you re-restore you will lose all your jailbroken apps, but you can re-install them anyway. worth it for untethered

with the NOR only firmware, you won't lose any of your files/apps/data/media
it'll /can/ change your boot logo/you can use it to go from tethered to untethered

Ok, so now i've created a NOR FW in RedTool on my mom's windows PC.
BUT, I'm using Apple Mac OS X 10.5.5...
Just pop up iTunes on the mac, shift(/command/ctrl?) click restore?.

And just for the convienience: is there a redtool for mac?

There is currently no version of redTool that supports Mac OS X or any Operating System other than Windows XP/Vista/7

I have thought about working on one, but it would be interesting as my Cocoa skills leave a lot to be desired. AppleScript probably isn't quite capable, but who knows?
