Eh, for a Mac that may be a good deal, but really, 1.8GHz processor really isn't that great for today's standard applications and things.

I'd say no. It's your opinion on how much you want a Mac, I suppose.

No, and a decent PPC processor would be annoying to find anyway.

Sell one average PC and use the money to upgrade the other one. Be sure to buy components compatible with OSX86 (Google it). Next, upgrade the computer and set up a dual boot with OSX86 (which is a version of OS X that runs natively on normal PCs).

Note - it is legal to run OS X on a non-Apple computer, as long as you own a license.

Many people will probably disagree with this, but my old PC (3.0 ghz Intel processor with hyperthreading*, only 512 mb ram, and a 160 gb HDD) ran Leopard literally flawlessly, especially considering the low ram and the dated processor.

    * - If you don't know what hyperthreading is, it was the precursor to multi-core technology. It's a single-core processor that's treated as two processors. I don't know if the hyperthreading even worked with OS X.

You could always buy an actual Mac if this is too much work.
