Netbooks are nearly twice as powerful as the iPad for half the price... Which one would you guys pick?
    Im talking about this netbook:

I mean, the iPad looks like a cool device and all, but it's limited, expensive, and doesnt have as many features as a netbook. If the iPad was cheaper i would consider getting one, but $499 is WAY to much...

Yeah but netbooks aren't better at anything.

I'd go for the iPad. I already have a laptop so I don't need a smaller one. I don't care about the extra weight

How do you know its limited? You haven't even tried it, or the 3rd party applications yet.

I still prefer an iPad over a netbook. I already have one laptop, I don't need another.

A tablet (in this case the iPad) suites my needs. It doesn't need to be powerful, it just needs to work. I've grown use to touchscreen devices, and its great for when not at the desk. I have other reasons to.

Same. Yeah, you can say that they're more powerful, but they serve no real purpose. Anymore, you see "netbooks" that are cheap, but end up with the same basic battery life as a low-end laptop.

My basic white MacBook gets about 6 hours of battery life. It's not even the newest model, either. Just a basic white MacBook that I got for around $700 - refurbished from Apple.
Yeah. It was more than a netbook. But when you spend more, you get a better quality product.

A prime example is with mp3 players. Yeah - you could spend $100 on an 8GB touchscreen player from X company, but if you spend a bit more for a Touch, you get a much, much nicer device.

In my opinion, we've yet to even begin to see what the iPad is capable of. It's pricy at $500, but in the long run, I think it's worth it.

Of up to 3 hours and 48 minutes to give you more time away from an outlet.

    iPad:
    10 hours

    I'd take the iPad
