i didnt really know where this should go, but the sdk makes apps so i thought it should go here

MAY NOT BE TRUE-it just said "leaked info"

    http://voidin.blogspot.com/2008/01/macworld-2008-keynote-leaked.html

its info on the sdk being released and about how developers choose their price for the app or widget they made, and then it is put in itunes for people to download.
(if this is all true) developers get 70% of the earnings. they can make their app free if they really wanted to

thesmidge, PLEASE tell me you KNEW That we'd have to pay for apps.... Was that not obvious? - lol....
You honestly thought that a piece of hardware like an iPod/PSP would allow for free apps to be added without having to pay --- legally? No... That is where jailbreaking/hacking comes into play. Why else do you think it's so hard to install apps/games? If Apple were to make this possible on purpose, it'd be 10x easier... Not saying that it is hard - but trust me, it would be MUCH easier.

I think it is true! I mean, one factor that kind of gives it away is the fact that in 1.1.3 they will have apps that can be downloaded (this is why they haven't worked as hard to stop 3rd party apps. Also, the fact that they have already implemented the multiple pages for apps (no this did not come with summerboard).

idk i thought it meant automatically updating the apps u bought from itunes

that would suck if it was automatic firmware update (can they even do that!?)

as for paying for apps, im guessing most of them will be priced, because i wouldnt put out an app for free, when you get a 70% profit and you know people are going to buy it for their ipods.

actually this sounds more and more fake everytime i think about it.

although this is a leak.... i think its the most feasible idea and its perfect

Developers make an app... They set a price..... U buy it...... U put it on ur ipod..... We hack it and get it for free (illegally)... Everybody's Happy!

Hey, Apple is a business. What are you going to expect?

But it's too bad that the easiest and fashionable MP3 was the most strict with their firmware.
