Hey guys, I currently have 1.1.4 and have had it for quite a while. Its jailbroken with tons of apps and addons. Im deciding whether I should upgrade to 2.x (which one). Can somene tell me the advantages and disadvantages? I really need details and what are the benefits.
I dont like the idea of having to pay for some apps and I dont feel like upgrading everything and having to reinstall things.
sorry if theres a thread already, but I just need info.

    Thank you

    That's why.
App Store is the main reason. And stability.

The upgrade to 2.x costs $10. Most people have been getting it for free (like me), but we can't help you with that. Google is your friend.

As for reasons to upgrade to 2.2:
    -App Store. Enough said.
-MxTube 1.5. Lets you stream as well as download YouTube videos, so it's a complete replacement for the default YouTube app.
-Mobile Substrate and dylibs. This allows you to inject code directly into SpringBoard, so you get things like Stacks and SBSettings and Backgrounder.
-MewSeek + PwnPlayer. MewSeek is the new iSlsk, and PwnPlayer is a replacement for iPod.app. It's having some troubles right now, but once they all get sorted out it'll be crazy awesome.
-Emoji and Street View. Kind of pointless, especially since no one but you can see the emoji, but they're fun to have.
-Etc. Search the forums for more.

Oh, and don't use Installer 4. It's a piece of crap. Cydia FTW.

okay, I got it to 2.2 and jailbroken.. but slightly disapointed in the type of apps. I guess Ill have to look for sources for Cydia
Yah, Ive noticed installer 4 isnt very good, much slower.

    Thanks for the help
