ok so the first problem on my 3GS is that it sometimes just goes to safe mode by itself,

like I use my phone and its fine, then I leave it in my pocket and a few minutes later it will be in safe mode. wtf?

the second problem is when I receive a phone call the slider sometimes dissappears, so I cant answer the call, wtf? - (I think this might have something to do with LS Rotator)

    Then uninstall LS rotator then!

I dont get why everyone resorts to restoring so early. restoring is not an option for me!

You're right. It bugs me too when everyone tells you to restore for even the simpleest of problems. Anyway, try turning of some mobile substrate add-ons via SBSettings. iDevices usually go into safemode when there are too many processes going on and not enough RAM to cover it. And for your second problem, just uninstall LSRotator to see if that is the problem. If it is then you have to choose between dropping calls and LSRotator. If it's not the problem, then reinstall it and then maybe restore (but hopefully not).
