Been looking all over cant find anywhere in my touch where the battery icons are to replace them with some on here, can this be done without customise?

    Get Winterboard.
Make a theme called Battery or something.
Then just put the battery image in there.
Make sure they are named right.
    Then apply through WinterBoard

A more detailed explanation on naming and such:

    Get winterboard
SSH and go Library/Themes/'your theme'/'Custom Battery.theme' (or whatever you want to name it)
Now create a folder called Bundles and put it in 'Custom Battery.theme'
Create a folder inside of Bundles and name if com.apple.springboard
    Copy over your 17 battery png's named BatteryBG_1 - BatteryBG_17 respectively.
    Activate using winterboard =)

Yeah I tried that couldnt get it to work, ive got a theme in with the rest of the folders in winterboard called battery.theme but when I apply it and springboard reloads its still the original.
What I was thinking is just to find the folder with the current images and overwrite them??

It may be because you're putting into the Vista theme (maybe)....

Try putting it into the Themexxxx Folder by itself.

You battery should be setup as JonTheAzn stated...

    YourBatteryFolder/Bundles/com.apple.springboard/.png's

Copy paste YourBatteryFolder into Themesxxxx, repspring your iPod, go to Winterboard, select YourBattery, exit Winterboard, let it respring and it should be working.

If not, try moving YourBattery up to the top of the Winterboard Menu and re-apply it
