I don't have any numbers but it's much better. It's still dead when I get home from school though.

thats weird because yesterday on the old 2.0 firmware i didn't turn it off and listened to 6+ hours of music and probably an hour of gaming and the battery was at about 45%(i've got it set to percentage and stayed that way when i upgraded

) this is with my brightness at about 1/3 and with wifi off. And this is version one if your wondering.
I won't be really be able to give you anything more concrete since i won't be stuck at uni for 6 hours between one of my classes. Though so far it is different from yesterday because i used it on the bus ride in this morning and its at 88% so i 'think' its doing better on life.
    hope that helps a bit.

I got this info from Apple's site:

    Longer battery life.

Now you can keep on rocking (and watching and playing) even longer. Improved battery life means iPod touch provides up to 36 hours of audio playback or 6 hours of video playback — enough to watch three or four movies between charges.*

*Testing conducted by Apple in August 2008 using preproduction hardware and software. Battery tests are conducted with specific iPod units; actual results may vary. Rechargeable batteries have a limited number of charge cycles and may eventually need to be replaced (see www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/battery). Battery life and number of charge cycles vary by use and settings. See www.apple.com/batteries for more information.

    Hope it helps.

Same here, I don't know exactly how much it has gone up, but for me it's gone way the hell up! I used to have to charge it nightly (I am a Wi-Fi addict), but now I can go longer..so far its the 2nd day and I have about 65% left.

I am very satisfied with this update.
