Whenever you install or uninstall an app, the Cydia app on 2.0 causes the touch to freeze with only a Spinning wheel in the centre which never seems to stop [SWOD]. (Waited at least 30 revolutions but still remained the same).

I was forced to force restart in the end. So it looks like Cydia on 2.0 is very buggy.

I'm having a similar error. When I start Cydia, I'm told that there are four essential upgrades that need to happen:

    • APT
    • Core Utilities
    • Cydia Installer
    • Cydia's Source Set

I confirm and the touch starts downloading, that's all fine and good. After some time though, the "Downloading" bar stops updating. Not too long after that, I get the SWoD.

I've reset and opened Cydia multiple times, every time I get the download stop and freeze. The wi-fi works because I grab email with it. Is there something that I"m missing?

Background: Windows XP. iPod Touch 16 GB. I downloaded a custom 2.0 firmware and restored with iTunes 7.7. Even went the extra mile and installed 1.1.4, pwned it, then went through with the 2.0 restore.

Could I have a bad IPSW? Could I have a bad Cydia install from the f/w dl? Am I just crazy?!

    This is annoying...

I think it might be because your ipod or phone goes to sleepmode after one minute or so. I have had the same problem couple of times, but just change the settings or move your fingers on the ipod while its loading and installing or it will go to sleepmode and "jamm". I'm not sure about this but thats my guess.

Changed sleep mode to 5 minutes, and it worked like a charm.

Update manually and update core utilities last, theres one of the essential upgrade that requieres a restart of cydia and thats why coreutilities wont work and keep spining, just use your brain, not that hard.
