    Interesting tid bit here.

    notice this

"Apple representatives at the event yesterday told us, however, that a free software upgrade will be adding the Genius feature to existing iPod classics."

Genius? That sure sounds like a new feature to me. What happened to "We have to charge for updates that add new features its the law" eh Steve?

Glad I didn't pay for it.

How is this going to anger me? I have an iPod Touch and an iPod Video Gen 5.5. The only way this relates to me is that I paid for 2.0

I'm not angered. Because the classic is totally equivalent to the touch.

I actually upgraded my 1.1.4 straight to 2.0.1 ... then from there .. 2.0.2 all free!!! I used the "hold shift and select update file" method and it was extremely thrilling to know i wasn't swizzed by apple just because i own an iPot instead of a flashy iPhone.

Oh... and now, because i had 2.0.2 the 2.1 upgrade was totally free.
Not sure if this post is actually allowed, but for the minute... i suggest searching for the firmware file 2.0.2 to achieve the free 2.1 upgrade. I know jailbreaking isn't possible as of now, but that genius is so damn cool!!!

What did you expect to get? Music Player? Video Player? Internet Device?
