Is this true? If so, Apple screw me out of $10 once again. Haha.

no its 2.0 that has the January app pack and the AppStore.
2.0.1. is just a an update for more stability, and to fix bugs.

Funny, I had to restore my touch on a different computer because mine couldn't update to 2.0.1 for me. And the new update gave me the 5 apps & appstore. Can anyone confirm either of this?

what firmware were you updating from? the Jan pack comes with 2.0, so if you had never purchased the jan update, and bought 2.0, you get the 5 apps. i guess i'm a little confused what you're asking...

Hmm I thought when you restore, from any PC, it basically wipes everything out & install from the new firmware download. I tried to update on my PC & it wouldn't work. Bricking my touch. Saying I need to restore it. So I tried the update on another PC & that worked. Gave me 2.0.1 with the 5 apps & appstore. Make any sense?

The January app pack came out 6 months ago.... If you had bought it for 1.1.3/4 then, you would have gotten Mail, Maps, Notes, Stocks, and Weather then.

2.0 comes with these also, and that is why it has a price tag. 2.0 comes with Mail, Maps, Notes, Weather, Stocks, and the App Store for everyone.

I understand that. I'm just saying, for those who never gotten the 5 apps or appstore, does the 2.0.1 update include these for free. Anyone actually gotten it for free?

You need to have 2.0 to get 2.0.1 for free. If you are on 1.1.4 with no January App Pack and you try to update to 2.0.1, you will have to pay.

    Gotcha.

But some sites post the 2.0.1 update for download. That's illegal right?
