Hey im new here and have been an IPod touch user since last november.

I downloaded winpwn 2.0.0.4 and pwned my ofw 2.0.1 and selected to install cydia and installer.app and thats all.

I was surprised though that the CFW is smaller but not much than the OFW

So is it currupt or incomplete or a new and higher compression rate

I can read it though winrar if I change the extension to zip

    heres the sizes

    CFW: 257,669,008 bytes
    OFW: 258,660,321 bytes

I just want to be sure before I try and restore my IPod

oh and btw is there a way of unlocking the limit on the amount of pages of apps installed

Yeah, it's always been that way, at least for me. They have maybe upped the compression on the ipsw (which is Zip-format). I removed my Custom ipsw so I can't compare the sizes of the dmg-images inside it. Your ipsw is most likely fine though. The fact that it's the iPod means it will always be possible to restore in DFU-mode, even if it fails miserably.

Yeah I noticed the custom iPhone firmware I made with xpwn was slightly smaller than the original firmware. Everything seems to work fine so who knows, like someone said could just be the compression utility being more efficient in the custom firmware case.

No, not what I've seen so far. 9 pages is quite a lot though, at least to me.

    9 pages of apps = 144 apps + 4 dock

    So, that's 148 apps.

I think 9 is fine lol.

Maybe winpwn removed something that apple put to prevent customizing the firmware?
