I have the privilege of receiving either a 32 Gb. 1st gen iPod Touch OR a 2nd gen. Question is, which 1 should I take?

Some questions on top of that..

    1) will updating the 1st gen to 2.1 firmware increase the battery life as claimed by Apple?

    2) are the external speakers, mic-in capability, revamped aluminum backing, and volume rocker really worth all the hype that it is getting?

    3) do you think I would be able to trade ( if I am getting it ) my 1st gen Touch for a 2nd gen Touch at Apple if I didn't open the packaging yet?

i admit question 3 is kinda dumb, but whatever..

    if u have a 1st..keep it

the firmware update will be enough

if u dont have a 1st gen get the 2nd god dammit

or if u want the 2nd but have the 1st sell the 1st on eBay/craiglist or break it then get a refurb 1st gen and then sell it on eBay

battery life is in the hardware not firmware, and i say get the new one, its cheaper, and nobody really has a second yet so no one can really answer your question....yet

I already have a 1st gen iPod Touch 16 gb. but I'm doing freebie sites that give out free iPods, and they asked me if I want the 1st gen or 2nd gen Touch... ( I'm leaning towards the 1st gen more... NICE BOX ! )

um... if you already have the 1st gen why would you buy another 1st gen? since you already have a 1st gen you might as get the 2nd gen..and those things arent seem like scams to me... tried to get a iphone before but never got it

lol actually I already OWN a 16 gb. 1st gen Touch, but I am getting another Touch FOR FREE from a freebiesite ( youripodtouch4free.com ) and they told me I could get a 1st gen or 2nd gen from them, which they are now ready to ship to me, they are just waiting for my decision...

After thinking about it, i'll probably just get the 1st gen and sell it on eBay or something
