I have a 16GB 1st gen iPod Touch and I just bought one of the Nike+iPod kits for running.

Is there any way I can get it to work with my 1st Gen iPod, because it doesn't work on there standard. Maybe a hack or something? I wouldn't think it would need any of the new hardware considering it has it's own receiver.

Also, is there any way to intentionally brick and iPod Touch 1st gen? And no, I won't explain why

There's no way to purposely brick it besides physically harming the device.

Can't you use the little dongle that comes with the Nike+ kit?

Yeah, it doesn't connect through bluetooth, it connects through that. That's why I would think it would work, but Apple doesn't let 1g users use nike+ipod for some reason.

    I too, run with Nike+.

If you have 1g ipod touch, unfortunately, you're out of luck.
Unless the adapter that came with the Nike+ sensor fits into the ipod touch, otherwise, sorry bud.
Repeat: There is NO way it will work, unless you can get the bluetooth adapter that comes WITH the nike+ sensor to work with the ipod touch. (which I am unsure about).

To brick an ipod, jailbreak it, install openSHH, download winSCP, hack into the main board, and delete EVERYTHING in the /root/ directory.
    Reboot.
    Done.

(Why anyone would to do this is odd)

    Actually that won't brick it.

    You can always do DFU.

I'm guessing you're hoping for an upgrade to a second gen if you hand it in for repairs?
