1st gen Jailbreak refresh

    Going to start a fresh on my ipod touch I have first gen which I just found out doh and I have Ziphone jailbreak on it.its now showing 1.15

    I want to know whats the best steps to upgrade firmware and also then I read from most forums that I should use redsnow for jailbreak? but which version.

    Update to 3.0

    Then use redsn0w 0.8 to jailbreak

    To get to version 3.0 how do I do that simply? Is there a guide for this?

    Plug your iPod into your Computer, open iTunes, Click "Update", then buy the update.

    Just plug in your iPod to your machine. Once the iPod is visible in iTunes, use the "Check for updates" option.

    Ok brought and paid for 3.0 update but I just get error 1600 any ideas
    wont update

    Put your iPod into DFU mode and then restore. It will update it to 3.0

    Make sure your iTunes is the newest version aswell, should be 8.2.1.6
