I recently got a new laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and decided to restore my 1st gen ipod touch to the 3.1.3 firmware after having it previously jailbroken on firmware 3.0. I installed the latest iTunes and then restored and updated the ipod to the 3.1.3 firmware however it refuses to sync at all with itunes when I try setting it up as a new ipod profile. It gives me various errors when trying to sync such as "Duplicate file found, Required file not found, Internal device error, etc". I went and tried restoring and syncing it with my old laptop which has Windows XP and everything works fine without any problems. Going back and trying to sync it with the new laptop again gives me problems such as the ipod timing out while syncing, giving me the same previous errors and when trying to drag new mp3 files on, it gives the error "A folder was specified and not a file". I don't know if this has to do with the different operating systems but both computers have the newest iTunes installed. I've tried reinstalling itunes several times and restoring in DFU mode but it just refuses to work with my Windows 7 laptop.
