So i was reading up on the iphone 3.0 update earlier today and noticed that it stated the 1st gen iphones will not have mms support. This angers me quite frankly, i bought the iphone when it first came out and have been waiting for picture messaging for a very long time, and now i will not be able to get it because i bought their product when it first came out. How does everyone else feel?

It is slightly unfair, and also unjustified, as it is just as easy to implement it in both devices. But as they say, C'est la vie.

I don't understand why they would choose that feature not to implement in their original product.

    ....that's Apple!

Thankfully once you unlock and jailbreak, Apple can no longer force you to do what they want.

Will it be possible to implement this with a jailbreak app or something of the sort, and also can i just buy a 3g and keep my existing plan or would i have to create a new one.

idk if they necessarily want you to buy an iphone 3g, but buy the expected new one released at that time as usual

I think apple and/or AT&T are planning on using their 3G network to support MMS. Thats why it will not be supported on the first gen. But Im sure someone will find a way do enable it on the old phones. Could be as simple as changing the APN within the MMS app, change it to AT&T's regular MMS APN maybe? They will figure it out

If not try swirlyMMS works great!
