I was at the shops today and was looking around for prices on the iPhone 3G. (I live in australia) Heres the price list i got from enquiring.

    AllPhones (Optus): 8GB = $750
    AllPhones (Optus): 16GB = $880
    Vodafone: N\A
    Optus Store: 8GB = $729
    Optus Store: 16GB = $849
    Telstra: N\A

So i think that the "We have acheived to get the iPhone 3G's Price down to $199 USD is amazing" Yeah it is, but have you done it? even if I convert $199 USD to AUD it is only a few dollars more! So i want to ask everyone. Has this "$199" crap made any difference in the price for others?

Steve Jobs mentioned that the price of the 3G iPhone would be $199, although that was on a contract.

The prices you listed above are for pay-as-you-go or pre-pay plans.

He's talking about Australia, not United Kingdom.

aare those the unsubsidized prices? do they have at&t in australia, because that could make a difference....at$t is paying for like $600 of every iphone 3g, that's why it's only 200
