16GB 3G iPhone and 8GB iPod touch both cost $299

    Anyone else find it odd that the 16GB 3G iPhone and the 8GB iPod touch are the same price? It only seem logical that apple would lower the price of the iPod touch. I would expect a price drop very soon. Or, maybe we won't see a price drop. Complexis breaks it down very nicely:

    You still have to begin a 2 year contract to get the 16gb iPhone for $299, though.

    They're just trying to make it more worthwhile to get an iPhone rather than the less featured Touch.

    This is really beneficial to AT&T. :p

    I don't think it is a very smart thing for apple to do. Their iPod touch sales are going to drop like crazy. It just doesn't make sense to me. I feel like the iPod touch users/future purchasers got screwed.

    i doubt it. on website, http://www.apple.com/iphone/buy/

    u can buy at apple retail store; i doubt apple will let at&t use their stores.
