    Frustrating....

I have updated .net framework, put the ipod correctly in dfu mode (black screen and ipod recognizes it as an ipod needing to be restored) and tried it on 2 differant computers and i keep getting the same errors from itunes:

    1604, 1602, 1601

all in differant cases... i have restored my ipod about 4 times and i am now asking for help...please

You need to send the BSS file first before restoring to custom firmware. Are you using any of the jailbreak GUI programs on these forums?

If not, I recommend using Voltage or Cyw00d. By the way, make sure you also have C++ 2008 installed.

Try using Voltage and see if you have any success. Remember that you also need C++ 2008 installed. (Google it)

C++ 2008? No clue to be honest, but you need it in order for your iPod and PC to communicate normally.(something along those lines) You can get C++ 2008 from the official Microsoft website.

Voltage is just another jailbreak GUI program, like redtool.
