I think i am going to purchase the $1,500 MacBook Pro but I was wondering if Oblivion would run smoothly at high graphics settings. Oblivion is one of the main reason I am buying the mac so if someone could tell me there experiences with Oblivion or similar games on the MacBook Pro that would be great. thanks in advance.
PS And feel free to recommend me laptops too.

Do you think that the m15x would be able to run Oblivion at high settings?

I am not buying a MacBook Pro to just play Oblivion. That is just a main reason.

it will play it pretty well. the alienware is more for extreme gamers that want to max out every game they play.

Oblivion isn't that graphically intensive. The 13 inch with the GeForce 320M should run it fine.

Stay away from Alienware though. You can get a better PC laptop for a cheaper price than them.

The base config M15X provides a lowish-end processor and 3gb RAM but good GT 240M graphics.

The base config MBP provides a decent CPU + 4GB RAM + half the GPU power of the M15X.

If you want to game a lot, get the Alienware. IF you want to perform normal tasks a lot too, buy the MBP.

alienware is ridiculously overpriced, you can get a computer just as good if not better on the web, from ibuypower or cyberpowerpc. but i think a macbook pro should play oblivion fine.
