Wow...for the price you'll pay to get those specs...I laugh at you. Except for the USB 3 and Thunderbolt, my 6 month old HP laptop has the same specs. And it cost me far less than this "new" macbook.
Seriously? I was expecting a way better display like rumored, I hope thats the base model too. We should be moving towards SSD drives as well.
You know, it's possible they could offer this as a low-end option...say, maybe $999. And have thinner, lighter, retina versions for the other models. Or, maybe Retina will only be for 15" models.
This isn't a very credible source either. It's a Chinese forum post thingy. I highly Doubt this is real.
WOW, just $999 on the low end?? What a steal! My 15.6" HP with the same specs (As mentioned, no USB3 or Thunderbolt) cost just under HALF that!!! I guess I just have a hard time seeing why someone would happily shell out that kind of money when they can get the SAME specs cheaper. Hell, buy a nice laptop for half the cost, and take other half to: - Do some SERIOUSLY sick upgrades to make an even better system. - Take a vacation. - A crap load of other stuff to bring yourself happiness.
Lots of reasons people pay for Macs. I'm not going to list them bc it isn't the time or place for a war.
