The unfortunate part is that as great as this update is, most people are not going to appreciate it. It's the smoothest and most powerful version of OS X yet, but it's a lot of subtlety that will be lost on ordinary consumers I think. It's "The Year of iOS" at Apple until next summer.

My only gripe is the plurality of "Mavericks".

The place that it's named after is called Mavericks. Not Maverick, not Maverick's, but Mavericks. I think it's stupid too, but hey -- I didn't get to name it :p I do think the name-it-after-a-place idea is pretty cool, though. It will provide an interesting guessing game for the next few versions of Mac OS.

Just sayin', the Notification Center had a Do Not Disturb function in Mountain Lion as well; they just called it differently.

"Keep Track of Apps That Are Power Hogs"

I am incredibly excited/happy for this feature. I would love to know exactly how much power each app is using broken down into percentage form. This feature plus the tagging feature are going to be incredible
