The 1 billionth app countdown is going to end on April 22nd at 4:29:53/54 CST.

If you don't believe me all you have to do is be on the apple billion app countdown page and change your date and time on your computer to that time i have stated.

Probably calculated time when it hits 1,000,000,000.

No it is just the calculated time, but it does give you a rough estimate of when it is supposed to be over.

So... is the app download meter real? Or is apple just counting by seconds. =P

There just using a algorithm or equation to guess when it should be over. All it is is a set of estimates.

its not hard to figure it out...

just figure how many apps are downloaded a day, and then do the math, subtracting the number of apps per day from the difference between 1 billion and however man apps have been downloaded.
