I've got one album that no matter what I do appears twice but only in the album category of music the app. It acknowledges as the same album though because if I play a song in one album it shows that song playing in the other album. It only appears once in the cover flow also.

    What I've tried:
Removing all music and resyncing my playlist
Checking to see if I dragged it into the playlist twice
    Fixing the Album Art.
Adjusting the info for the songs.

I figured out that the songs are on the iPod one time but the album is displayed twice for some reason. It's really weird.

Go into iTunes and make sure that the Album Artist for the album is the same. Sometimes it'll display everything is the same but for whatever reason the album artist will be different and so it lists it twice. Happened to me a couple times.

Well the easy fix is to select both by holding ctrl and right click and choose 'get info' then while in there fill in the artist, album, etc.

    That should fix it.

The problem is, it's shown as a single album in iTunes. So I can't check to see if the info is the same because it's the same album displayed twice only on the ipod and only in the Album filter.

in itunes select all the music of that album, right click get info, and put in "album artist" the same thing you have in "album". you can either leave it like that or then select all again, get info and delete the "album artist section"

hope i am not making this to confusing

    Hi, first time poster here.

I have the same problem. The Led Zeppelin album Physical Graffiti appears as a single album on my itunes, but in my iPhone (both on the artist and album playlists) the album appears twice, only that in one not all of the songs are listed. I've retyped the artist, album artist and album fields and also used the sorting fields, but to no avail.

Make sure that the artist's and album name have NO spaces after it, same with all the other info.

I would get something like MusicBrainz Picard and start re-tagging your music. It will be a big help for iTunes Match if you ever use it. Above methods are a good quick fix.
