Hello. I got this warrant replaced ipod touch a while ago which came with 1.1.3. I upgraded to 1.1.4 for a few months but recently, the battery life has been really bad. I go on the touch for maybe 30 minutes of just playing the occasional game and browsing files and checking installer for updates and the battery life goes to 80%. This has been happening really often now and I even restored and installed only the necessary apps but the battery life is the same. I also have mobile stacks installed FWIW. Also, I have a plastic shell case on the ipod and when charging, the ipod gets warm sometimes. What's is going on? Is this covered by the warranty? thanks.

    Games kill battery life.

Turn off WiFi and SSH and put brightness down to 10%.

well it depends a refresh of installer takes a lot of battery and when you play a gba or any emu game it goes down like 1%every 2-3 mine if that.
on ttr the battery goes down even faster.
turn your brightness all the way off too.
if your wifi is on and your playing emulators your battery goes down like in chunks lol

Odd. It may be the hardware, the battery. For now, you can cope with it by using the methods here, but I would look into taking it to Apple. If you choose to do so, be sure to restore.

Must be a hardware issue because 1.1.4 was supposed to improve battery life.

The ipod is meant to be hotter on the outside to disperse heat, that is plenty normal and nothing to worry about.

Restore and use it with factory settings for awhile. If it still goes down really fast un-jailbroken, take it to Apple and get it replaced.
