ok, first of all, i did search...

alright, now i have a stock 1.1.4 16gb touch, and i was wondering if there was any possible way to use this one as a restore backup, or do i ABSOLUTELY have to set it up as a new ipod? i only dont want to lose my map bookmarks, but i guess i could get them back...

oh and if this matters at all, i havent been on here in about a week so this ziphone 2.6 is kinda new to me, and when i tried it with a backup of my ipod, i got the dreaded spamming at error

    thanks for the future help

I did mine as it was with all the music and everything on it and it worked fine with ziphone 2.6b. After i was done I had to install the normal apps and files but all my music, contacts, etc were still in place.

Correct, I did it as it was running 1.1.4 with all my stuff on it. I also did my iPhone this way with zero problems.

yup same for me. I had customize my iPod as much as possible without jailbreaking (including purchasing january apps) and then I clicked jailbreak iPod and it worked flawless. Make sure you click iPod.

You didn't need to do a restore, you could have just kicked it out with ziphone back to normal. Then you could have done the NVRAM and done it again.
