Word is that the next update is due on February 26, what do you guys think will be included there? the app pack from january update? SDK is obvious, but after it's open for 3rd party softwares do you think that we can use apps like emulators, iPhysics, or other 3rd party apps that are available when you jailbreak your ipod Touch?

I'm 99.9% sure that there will be an iChat like app released in the SDK. And I also think R4m0n will be able to get iPhysics onto it.

    i dunno man

i dont even like 1.1.3..too many issues with apps not properly working

i doubt there will b nething like a jailbreak thou

apple will try to get more apps but most likely b useless to there main audience

jailbreaks allow all people to find sumtinh that interests them

i guess all i can say
    is apple will try

    but
    in the end

the jailbreak dev team will b 1 step ahead

The SDK will open the floodgates, my friend. Jailbreak has been cool, but it is really only useful until Apple got it's act together.

1.1.4 will have stuff that is needed for the Touch to become a serious PDA. Things like cut and paste, and a filesystem accessible by the user.

And maybe Flash in Safari, which is the big missing part of that program.

you won't be able to use NES, PSX, or any other video game console emulator on your touch. running games designed for a cetain device (example NES) on another system (example ipod touch) is illegal. also, the way you must download the games is illegal to (to find the ROMs you must download them from ******* sites)

o and for the rest of the SDK apps, you probably have to pay. if apple charges 20 dollars for maps, notes etc, then they'll be mean enough to charge for iChat for ipod touch.

well, the date kinda pops out in a lot of websites, so I think that there are some truth to them... you can check out:

PS: if it's true, then in just a week from today... we can have SDK (hopefully for free)

Lets just wait a week and see. Apple made apps will cost, but it doesn't mean that apps made by ex-jailbreakers must cost too.

dude common whats ur problem. people spent weeks making those emulators specifically for the ipod touch so if u dont like them, dont say anything.

Edit: o and isnt it kind of ironic that a 1.1.4 discussion is in the 1.1.3 discussions section?
