jchaike: I think you should definitely try CuteFTP at this point.

xSNOWCAT: did you already move your applications to the media partition using BossTools? The problem is that even with Installer working right, the space available for apps on the original partition is insignificant now. If you have, another option you might consider is to try reinstalling Installer.app by selecting it from the Uninstall option in Installer. There it has a Reinstall button. This may or may not work as when I did it last night it effectively crippled my Installer and forced me to restore all the way back from 1.1.1.

No wait, I was able to successfully connect through CuteFTP: But when I tried changing the numbers from 755 to 4755, it didnt work, it just reverts back.

Your SSH probably closed. If you can download and install NetServices or BossPreferences you should be able to fix this.

I know there's a way to do these changes via Terminal, unfortunately I'm not your guy for that but the line commands should be the same as those written in other threads. Is there any way you can install Term-vt100 onto your iPod?

Im using a PC So using terminal is out of the question. and I have never used Term-vt100 so idk how good of an idea that would be. Also, nothing in installer works for me.

When I go to change the settings from 775 to 4775, it just reverts it to 477 instead. Check my screenshot:

for those of you getting the script error open putty and type the following

    cd /Applications
    chmod +s Installer.app/Installer
    chown -R root:wheel Installer.app

Okay, let's try a little experiment... worst case scenario it's easy to undo: try Permission 777 and see if Installer works that way... I'll dig into terminal land and see if I can help you that way, but fear not of terminal, it's a lot like MS-DOS if you ever used it?
