It's possible that Apple got sloppy and made the new firmware that much bigger so I wouldn't put all the blame on the JB developers... that said, BossTools doesn't require that much space (135 KB) so you should be able to install it if you have 1MB free.

my only problem is that i can't see my application icons after i install something from the installer, like openssh.

maybe that's what you call patching the springboard ?

When I try to transfer over the new installer.app, I get an error says:

Any help would be appreciated. :)

Edit: I turned off transfer resume support, but now when I think the transfer is complete I can't see the installer.app folder at all.

Edit2: I actually got it on the iPod, but I dont see the installer icon. I have already set the permission of installer.app to 4755.

Edit3: Turns out I got the folder on the iPod touch but all the files have 0 bytes as size. I guess its back to the original problem.

To this moment I haven't managed to make the OpenSSH icon show up again, but I have three full pages of apps. If your installer is working perfectly but you're not seeing the apps, try turning your iPod off, then on.

Another thing to consider is that if the memory is filled the apps may not be installing correctly, hence the suggestions in this thread to install BossTool 0.34a - you'll note you have between 13 and 20 MB free on the apps partition even after moving them to the media partition.

This sounds pretty hefty to me... have you tried with a different SFTP program? Also, do you know if you have enough memory available? If you don't, you can use the same program you have now to delete third party apps.

So I can copy the installer.app folder into almost any other folder except the application folder. Any ideas?
