couldnt i just download itunes right now, load it on a flash drive, and then not use the flash drive unless i need to restore, which then i would do it on a computer with out internet access, to prevent a bricking of my touch?

I know this sounds complicated, but would it work?

You could just not choose to update when it asks you

they cant auto update it would lead to lawsuits because they cant legally go into your personal computer and ipod

I don't know about lawsuits, but it'll always ask if you want to update.

You are all wrong intact. If you are talking about the rumor I posted. Apple will not have to make you agree to update the restore button.
