I was finding I could not get Apollo working after I upgraded so this is what I did.

    Requirements
    • BSD Subsystem
    • Terminal
    • The host file fix is good, but probably uneeded. YMMV!
    Code:
    # chmod +s /Applications/Apollo.app/Apollo

Not sure if this works for MobileChat too, but may do. Comments?

Actually you can get any app to run as root this way.

Simply set the userid of the file to root
    Code:
    chown root file
    Make the file executable
    Code:
    chmod 777 file
    Then set the SetUid flag
    Code:
    chmod +s file
This just may fix most 1.1.3 apps which need access to root files / devices

It's an arbritrary example of whatever particular command you want it to be. See the first post in this thread for an example.

Caught you before you edited, yes it is.
