    Hi,
I just wanted to share some things I did to make some applications work
correctly after installing the 1.1.3-1 (possibly also 1.1.3-2) Dev-Team
Jailbreak. Some of the stuff got posted already somewhere else here and
in other forums. So see it just as a summary.

    • Term-vt100:
      • Fix Term-vt100 to work with password and run as root:
        Code:
        chmod +s /Applications/Term-vt100.app/Term-vt100
        mkdir -p /usr/local/arm-apple-darwin/lib
        ln -s /usr/lib/libgcc_s.1.dylib /usr/local/arm-apple-darwin/lib/libgcc_s.1.dylib
      • Fix Term-vt100 Terminal Settings:
        Created /private/var/root/.profile with
        Code:
        TERM=ansi
        export TERM
    • Fix Time Zone not saving:
      Code:
      chown mobile:mobile /var/db/timezone
    • NetServices not working and not saving preferences:
      Code:
      chmod +s /Applications/NetServices.app/Netservices

What is still on the list to be clarified is
    • Finder: how to make Finder run as root - it works if you set the sticky bit as with NetServices, but it does not save preferences anymore.
    • Lockbox does not store
Apart from that I'm very satisfied with this Jailbreak and everything is working:
    • Summerboard
    • Safari incl. Safari synch. on Windows XP
    • Calendar incl. Outlook synch.
    • Mail
    • Contacts incl. Outlook synch.
    • YouTube
    • Stock
    • Weather
    • Maps
    • Notes
    • Clock
    • Calculator
    • All Preferences
    • Converter
    • Textedit (run as user mobile currently)
    • Preview (run as user mobile currently)
    • SysInfo
    • ScreenShot
    • BossTool

he just gave us a very useful list of things that he DID do... I've done most of these as well and after these tweaks my 1.1.3 is running beautifully. Another thing that I did was symlink the library and media folders.

    Term password

cheinelt, that's worked nice for Term login, but it prompts for password each time, how do I get it to auto-login?
