I'll be getting an ipod touch for xmas and i am curious as to which is the better road to take - downgrading to 1.1.1 and jail breaking or to jailbreak 1.1.2. Are there any real advantages specific to either firmware, or are they both about the same?

I switched to 1.1.2 and have noticed zero difference other than the ability to add calendar events. Nothing seems noticeably faster and my battery doesn't last any longer than it did before but those are two things some people say are improved in the 1.1.2 update. If your gonna jailbreak a fresh ipod, you may as well have the latest firmware though, it only makes sense. If you are on 1.1.1 with a iPod jailbroken the way you like it - I wouldn't go through the trouble of losing everything and starting over at least until the next update comes whenever that may be.
