    Hi,

i'm trying to update my touch to 1.1.2, but it shows every time at the end of the process an error (1602), and i have to downgrade again to 1.1.1 and then jailbreak etc.

I have downgraded iTunes to 7.5.

    What can this be.

Of course, as I have not 1.1.2. on it, I also have no SSH, so I cannot use other methods to get 1.1.3 etc.

    Please help!

    Thanks!

    Christian

Sounds like your going wrong along the lines,

You need to have the following firmwares on your desktop.

Download them from the links below.

    iPod1,1_1.1.1_3A110a_Restore
    http://www.[PIRACY.mu].com/?d=V7H8X2QQ

    iPod1,1_1.1.2_3B48b_Restore
    http://www.[PIRACY.mu].com/?d=M8STXHC5

Im sure you know how to restore your ipod in Itunes but i'll go through it.

    1. Open Itunes + Connect your Ipod

    2. Once its been detected, hold SHIFT & Press Restore - While in Itunes
    3. Locate the file called "iPod1,1_1.1.1_3A110a_Restore"

    4. Let it restore.

Once that's all done your have a brand spanking new 1.1.1.

You then need to jailbreak and prep it for 1.1.2.

To do this, go to jailbreakme.com in safari - Scroll to the bottom select "Install AppSnapp"

It will now install the installer.app and jailbreak your ipod.

Once this is done your ipod should restart - If not just switch it off and on again.

Now go to installer - All Packages > Install the following:

    1. BSD Subsystem
    2. OktoPrep

Once you have installed both, Restart your ipod again then connect it to Itunes and then hold SHIFT but DO NOT choose Restore, choose Update - Again find the file named
    "iPod1,1_1.1.2_3B48b_Restore"

Once you have done this, your ipod will once again restart, installer will be missing, now you need run the jailbreak program below.

    1.1.2 Jailbreak
    http://www.[PIRACY.mu].com/?d=HKVSL0G1

    Please remember to CLOSE Itunes.

To run this, run the program 'windows'
Remember to tick the box SSH

    Good luck and report back

Fix - Use this - independence - They make a mac version. With the iTunes and cable on the screen. Close iTunes plug in your Touch and launch independence. Do that twice. You Touch will now boot into a jailbroken 1.1.2.

Did this yerterday. Have jailbroken three times - all work.

    EDIT: http://code.google.com/p/independence/

I've never heard of it going into recovery mode before after an update.

Canthe - You said you downloaded the BSD Subsystem + Oktoprep - Have you restarted the ipod twice, sometimes it takes afew times to take affect.

Once you've done this, Check for updates in installer by refreshing the sources, and update all.

Then try again updating in Itunes with the 1.1.2 firmware file

i have done everything you said and still no luck.

    1. i downgraded to iTunes 7.5
    2. i shift click restore iPoT to 1.1.1 with the file iPod1,1_1.1.1_3A110a_Restore
    3. after finished restoring i unplugged ipod.
    4. i jailbroke it with jailbreakme.com
    5. i went to instaler and instaled BSD subsystems and oktoprep
    6. i restarted my ipod by holding down the power and home button together and waiting for it to restart hoping that this would make some diffrence.
    7. i plugged my ipod in to itunes.
8.I SHIFT CLICKED UPDATE AND UPDATED TO iPod1,1_1.1.2_3B48b_Restore
    9. after update finished, i closed itunes along with all processes.
    10. i went to the jb and ran windows.bat
    11. i checked install SSH and clicked jailbreak.
    12. the .bat file runs and gets stuck on the third line.

this is the same thing that has happend to me last 10 times i tried this in the past two days.
last night, i even left the .bat file running all night and still nothing happend.
i have jailbroken 1.1.2 several times in the past w/out this problem.

Seems like several people have this problem (including me).
Jailbreak hangs short after beginning to read flash.
    Nobody with a solution yet?
