    I downgraded to 1.1.1., installed Okto prep, upgraded to 1.1.2

    I downloaded the file known as "1" with jailbreak.jar and all that stuff. My ipod is connected to my computer, I click on jailbreak.jar and I get this prompt

    What am I doing wrong?

    I downloaded java from the apple website as well.

    The answer is in the question! Have a look at some of the stickies about the 1.1.2 jailbreak, basically you need to execute the osx file, probably better from Terminal, so cd into the folder containing the jailbreak and type ./osx

    what kind of mac are you running? I'm on a mini mac tiger (i think it's PPC) and there is an issue with PPC computers and the jailbreak. There is a thread about planetbeing testing it and some people have gotten it to work but not everyone.

    Alright. I figured out the problem. Follow these instructions

    UPDATE*
    If you're getting strange Errors (such as "Cannot connect to device") trying to do the 1.1.2 Jailbreak then try downloading this file: http://[PIRACY.rs].com/files/61509655/opt.zip.html and then just drag the opt folder into the root directory of your computers hard drive.
    Also make sure that the "1" folder is on your Desktop, Then open Terminal and follow the above steps.

    All I did was download that, open up my harddrive icon, and placed it under my name (my computer basically) and nothing else. I opened up the jailbreak.jar and it worked! I now have a fully jailbroken ipod touch running 1.1.2. Good luck.

    Yeah, I have obviously tried that. Keep getting.
    Code:
    /Desktop/1/osx ; exit;
    Unable to access jarfile jailbreak.jar
    logout

    [Process completed]
    And doing it the other way in Terminal, it gets to the point where it tries to find the iPod and I get the same connection error as I do when I just open the .jar.

    Update: Thank you beeeen! It works!
