Is it real or is just a rumor that the camera is 0.6 mpx? I cant understand how a 0.6 mpx camera can record HD Videos.

It shouldnt be 3 or 4 megapixels?

I am guessing you are talking about the VGA camera instead...

The camera can do 720p video, presumably at 960x720. See the 720? That means it's 720p, HD. 960*720 = 0.69 Megapixels.

For a camera, video is a lot less about picture size (megapixels) and more about frame rate. The camera in the touch is really good at taking pictures really fast for a video, but the resolution isn't going to be the best for still pictures.

Keep in mind that a still picture @ 4 megapixels can be 2272x1704, which would be equivalent to 1704p!

For a 16:9 picture (that you see on all HDTVs), widescreen HD at 720p is 1280*720, or 0.9 megapixels. Also, full widescreen HD at 1080p is 1920*1080, which is only 2 megapixels.

Yes, but the specs of the phone need to be able to handle it.

A camera that can take 2MP pictures isn't necessarily good at taking video. A cheap camera might be able to attain 2MP, but it'll take half a second or a full second to take the picture, depending on the amount of light available.

For video, you need to be able to take that 2MP picture at least 30 times a second, which a cheap 2MP camera can definitely not do.

The iPod Touch 4G should have been an iPhone 4 without the phone. Every single feature should have been included, even if it meant that it wouldn't have been as slim, or it would have cost more.

At the very least, offer two different versions. One with a .6mp camera and one with a 5mp camera.

Do you think that apple would release a product that was around half the price of the iphone that had all of the features - the phone?

Nobody would buy an iphone. This makes apple less money.
