The GTX 460 will work on a dual core. You will lose performance yes...but not that much. At worst you'll lose maybe 15-20%, in which case it's still faster than a GTX 550Ti. If It's not OEM you'll probably get more out of the GPU if you overclock to 3.2 GHz or more. I don't think its worth upgrading to the Phenom II X6. Very few applications can utilize 6 cores. I mean you can still do it...it has great value. But if you can find a Phenom II X4 @ over 3 GHz for cheap anywhere you should buy it.
