Was really just concerned about overheating and all that, and the tradeoff between speed and power consumption. And yeah, I'm an iPtF member long enough to know how awfully misused the term brick is. The main worry was the apparent danger of installing different bootloaders. I'll definitely do more reading up on it though. I'm probably so cautious just because of how foreign Android is to me compared to this nice nook I've found myself in with iPhone OS.
Yeah, thinking about it, I've never used it, and when I have it hasn't even worked… Would giving it a 1.6GHz kernel not have some detrimental effect on it? Like overclocking 'n such. While I'm at the n00b questions, what's Android's equivalent to DFU mode? Like what's the safety net if something goes wrong?
Thanks for that. Looks daunting, but seems a case of 'easier than it looks'. I'd forgotten about HTCsense.com, not sure on sacrificing phone finder and remote wipe; May end up waiting for the OTA update in the end. And meant Gingerbread, not Honeycomb… how'd honeycomb on a phone work?
I'm not a newb at Android, just have no need for the widgets or stuff, but with CM kinda plain, I want to maximize it.
Okay well I got the status bar, what other tweaks / widgets / random things you use? Also, what wallpapers do you use?
