It's currently under-construction at the moment though ;) I'm not sure what you mean by major, it's different in the uk, but my degree is pure Japanese, nothing else. There are lots of option after you graduate. You could teach english, teach Japanese, translate, interpret etc. Also, being fluent in a foreign language, especially one as hard as Japanese, looks very good on a CV to potential employers!
I'm going to japan for a year in september, as part of my degree (doing Japanese at university). Should be amazing :D
