ah, you'll probably also want the patches for the ieee80211 stack, which can also be found on the aircrack-ng page.

I have a broadcom chipset (bcm4311v1) on my own laptop and I can monitor traffic and inject packets. The problem is that windows (which judging on the driver, I assume you're using) doesn't give you the level of hardware access necessary to do so. You need to run *nix, so in your case, linux.
You'll need to modify the kernel drivers since no drivers come preinstalled with monitor mode and injection support for obvious reasons, so this rules out a live CD, you'll need to actually install Linux, and modify the kernel drivers (b43 in your case, bcm43xx will work too, but are deprecated as of a few months ago, and there are different patches for each).
Then check out the aircrack-ng page (http://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku.php) for the patches to apply to the kernel drivers as well as instructions on how to apply them.
The card is tempermental, and it's been a b*tch for me to get it to work properly, but it seems to work well with the latest kernel (2.6.26) and will probably work better with the 2.6.26 wireless testing kernel.
