Marshall | On-Ear Headphone | $ 170.00

Marshall has been in the audio business for the last 50 years. To celebrate half a century of amplifying all of our music, they released a revision to the original Marshall Major on-ear headphones. This one tagged with the 50 FX to differentiate it from the crowd. The headphone looks nice, but can definitely do a tad bit better. (more…)

Application Review: Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour

[IMG]Gameloft | 1.98 GB | $ 6.99

The Modern Combat series has always been the closest that iOS has gotten to a true first person shooter. With each iteration of the game, we have seen gradual improvements, better graphics, and enhanced gameplay. Modern Combat remains one of the well-polished shooters on the App Store, their 4th iteration goes a little further to try to improve upon the 3rd.   (more…)

Headphone Review: Heir Audio 4.Ai

[IMG]Heir Audio | In-Ear Monitors | $ 399.00

Heir Audio is a new growing company. I first heard their entry-level 3.Ai about 2 months ago. They impressed me quite a bit exposing the fun side of audio in a strong, technical fashion. Their 4.Ai model is one step up from the 3.Ai and aims to represent a more neutral sound; in contrast to the 3.Ai, it does this well.  (more…)

Headphone Review: Ultrasone IQ

[IMG]Ultrasone | In-Ear Monitor | $ 949.00

Ultrasone is a high-end headphone company. In their past endeavors, they have stuck to full-sized headphones. However, they recently decided to widen their horizons in an attempt to break the ice in their IEM creations with the Ultrasone IQ being their flagship model. It features a dynamic driver to deal with the lows and a balanced armature covers the rest. Can this IEM match up to its hyped price? Read on to find out: (more…)

Headphone Review: Brainwavz R1

Brainwavz | In-Ear Monitor | $ 39.50 – 49.50

I’ve really found myself impressed with many of Brainwavz’s offerings lately. Most of which, however, have been closer to the neutral spectrum. Brainwavz takes their first stab at a dual dynamic headphone with their new R1. It represents the entry-level, dual-dynamic for Brainwavz. Aiming towards a bass-heavy signature, the R1 does very well for itself.  (more…)

Headphone Review: SOL Republic Tracks Ultra

[IMG]SOL Republic | On-Ear Headphones | $ 179.99

It’s Michael Phelp’s choice of ‘phone to jam to before he takes a dive. It’s customizable through Colorware, and supported by SOL Republic themselves. They are flashy, and fun. They sound… Well, you’ll have to read on to find out exactly how they sound. We first took a look at SOL as a brand when I did a review on their original tracks. They were good, but nothing special. SOL Republic has released a new flagship model that aims to fix the problems of original Tracks as well as the HD model.  (more…)

Headphone Review: RHA SA950i

RHA | On-Ear Headphones | $ 59.95

RHA has always had one sole mission: to offer high-quality audio at an affordable price. Packaging this ideal together with great comfort really makes new SA950i something that I’m willing to recommend at an entry-level, 50 dollars. They represent another great bang for the buck from RHA.  (more…)

Application Review: Angry Birds: Star Wars

Angry Birds has really hit a life of its own. It has far extended out of the original iOS game. It has T-shirt lines, toy lines; it’s even sold as Halloween costumes now. New installments for Angry Birds seems to be a dime a dozen nowadays. Recently Rovio announced that they would take Angry Birds and give it a Star Wars twist. As the game remains the same, the powers switch up.  (more…)

Speaker Review: NuForce Cube

NuForce | Portable Speaker / Digital to Analog Converter | $ 99

We first met NuForce when I did a review on their NE700M headphones, at that time, I was impressed with their 70 dollar offering. Then came the 770, which I wasn’t too fond of. This roller coaster ride has lead me to the Cube, not a headphone from NuForce, rather a speaker.  Read on for the full review: (more…)

Application Review: Blux Camera

[IMG]Blux Touch | 9.8 MB | $ 2.99

With the most recent updates to the iOS line of devices, Apple has updated the camera on each and every device: iPhone, iPod, and iPad. New panoramic features are nice to have, however, full manual control still is absent. Blux Touch attempts to fix this problem, but also adds in numerous features of its own to turn the iOS camera into something closer to a full-fledged point-n-shoot.  Read on for the full review: (more…)
