Today, Sprint announced that it had sold 1.5 million iPhones in the second quarter of this year, Bloomberg thought that Facebook had a smartphone coming and then Mark Zuckerberg dismissed their claim, Apple made a few mistakes and sent out the wrong codes to up-to-date users, and Google Fiber launched in Kansas City, of all places. Today, it was announced that AT&T sold 3.7 million iPhones in the second quarter of this year, Bloomberg reported that Apple would be attending the Black Hat hacking conference this year for the first time ever, another rumor regarding a new iPod touch was posted, Apple reminded users that iWork.com will be taken offline on the 31st, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 was banned in the EU, Apple announced that Mountain Lion will be available on the Mac App Store tomorrow, the Cupertino-based corporation released its third quarter earnings, and The New York Times reported that Twitter would be letting you access your very old Tweets soon.

Today in the Apple world, the “Food & Drink” category went live on the App Store, shipping estimates for the MacBook Pro with Retina display were lowered to 2-3 weeks, a Russian hacker found a way to bypass the security of in-app purchases without jailbreaking, KnowYourMobile reported that the “iPhone 5″ will be released in August, and Apple reinstated its participation in EPEAT. In other tech news, Samsung did a fantastic job of emulating the Apple retail store experience and iFans forum member DUKE546 demonstrated that the MacBook Pro is a tough machine. iFans Daily Recap: July 10th 2012

Today was a pretty typical Tuesday. Google updated its Plus app with full iPad support, but is also going to have to pay $22.5 million for a Safari security breach. Twitter released an app update as well, hoping to make the iPhone Twitter experience feel a little more like the web version. Apple announced this morning that the 3rd generation iPad will be coming to China on July 20th and that developers can now submit apps to be reviewed for OS X Mountain Lion. Lastly, the City of San Francisco is boycotting Apple computers in hopes that the corporation will reconsider going with EPEAT. All of this is outlined in less than 3 minutes, here on the iFans Daily Recap.

iFans Daily Recap: July 9th 2012

It’s been a very busy Monday here at iFans! This afternoon, we reported that Apple is no longer going to adhere to EPEAT standards, regardless of their green-conscious track record. There were also a few software stories, including Apple working to shut down UDID activation websitesrumors of iOS Maps on Mac OS X, and the Mountain Lion GM seed. However, as exciting as these stories may have been, you must not forget about the two legal stories we covered today: The Galaxy Tab ruled “not as cool” as the iPad, and Noise Free Wireless suing Apple.
