What Apps Need Velox Support?

2013-04-09 14_57_25-Velox_ an upcoming tweak that lets you interact with app icons to check notifica

Velox is now available and, although it may be somewhat buggy at the moment, it brings home screen functionality to iOS that we haven’t yet seen in jailbreak software. Essentially, it allows you to perform certain common app actions directly on the home screen, and each app has its own unique implementation. Sadly, besides a few exceptions, the only apps supported out of the box are the default iOS apps. (more…)

Luna Now Available on Cydia

2013-05-05 18_00_28-iFans _ iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch Fans

Along with FullScroll and Grabby, Ryan Petrich’s Do Not Disturb enhancing tweak Luna is now available on Cydia. In short, the tweak’s main feature is to allow its users to enable Do Not Disturb by making a swipe-down gesture from the lockscreen or Notification Center. For the full run down, check out Joe’s post from Friday.

Sadly, Petrich decided to make the tweak $2 like many of his other offerings. That said, if any tweak developer deserves a couple of bucks, it’s him. Head over to the BigBoss repo on Cydia to grab it.

Well-known jailbreak developer Ryan Petrich, the curator of Activator and several other popular tweaks, has collaborated with graphic designer Sentry on an upcoming jailbreak tweak called Luna.

The tweak will enhance the functionality of the Do Not Disturb mode on iOS devices, by allowing users to enable the feature by making a simple swipe-down gesture from the lock screen or Notification Center.

Luna will also change the way that notifications are displayed when Do Not Disturb is enabled. To get a better idea of how the tweak will work, watch the two concept videos ahead. The tweak should appear on Cydia in the near future, and we’ll let you know when it drops.  (more…)

Jaku for iPad Released

Jaku for iPad

After several months of anticipation, Jaku for iPad has been soft launched on Cydia. This new WinterBoard theme, the work of Canadian graphic designer William Szilveszter, is inspired by the extremely popular original Jaku theme for iPhone. With a pixel-perfect icon set and other meticulously-crafted iOS elements, including the dock and notification badges, Jaku for iPad customizes nearly every aspect of the user interface.

“With the release of the new Jaku for the Retina iPad, I wanted to touch base with everyone that is flying it on their iPad,” said Szilveszter. “Firstly, thanks for the immense support. I know a ton of you have been waiting for this day and have stuck with me for over a year (flying the original Jaku for the Retina iPhone). You guys made all this possible.”

It’s important to note, however, that Jaku for iPad isn’t nearly as fleshed out as its iPhone counterpart yet. The theme doesn’t skin the lock screen, and there are custom icons missing for a number of popular apps. Nevertheless, Szilveszter is fully committed to his product — as he was with Jaku for iPhone — and will be working hard to release updates with additional icons. If you have a particular icon that you would like to request, please post its Bundle ID and icon file name in the comments section.  (more…)

iMIUI Theme Ports Popular Android ROM to iPhone

iMIUI

MIUI is one of the most popular custom ROMs available for Android, redefining the look of the platform with an original user interface and improvements to over 200 software features. And while the iPhone is obviously incompatible with the software, several graphic designers have been working on porting the design of MIUI into an iOS theme. Last month it was Minimal MIUI, and now it’s iMIUI.

iMIUI is a MIUI V5 port on deviantART that promises to be better than the original concept on Android, or so its maker onehalfkiller claims. The theme remains a work-in-progress thus far, with the lock screen, clock widget, custom icons and Compass app redesign completed. All that remains is some work on the Phone dialer, and then iMIUI should appear on Cydia. We’ll let you know when it’s available. A video demo of MIUI V5 follows.  (more…)
